Internships
The Guidance Center’s doctoral internship program is a 12-month APA accredited* internship, starting on August 1 (or the first Monday after August 1-if a weekend) and concluding the following year on July 31 (or the last Friday of July if the 31 is a weekend). The two individuals selected for the internship will receive a $34,074.82 annual stipend, plus benefits. In keeping with the general mission and philosophy of the training program, the internship is designed to assist interns in developing scientific and practice skills appropriate to those of a generalist working with children, adults, families, and couples. The community mental health center setting allows exposure to a plethora of experiences and modalities. A more in depth description of the internship can be found in the Training Manual and internship materials, available for download in the links located to the right. You may request hard copies of all documents by contacting the Training Director, Dr. Lindsey Colburn-Malousek, at (913) 682-5118 or lmalousek@mytgc.org
