Approximately 90% of TGC revenue is generated from public sources including county budget allocations, federal & state grants, Medicaid, Medicare and Mental Health Reform Allocations, totaling approximately $7 million per year. Private insurance and private pay comprise approximately 7% of our funding stream.

During the past decade, we have received $2.4 million in combined grant funding for programs and services from the Kansas Health Foundation, the Sunflower Foundation, the Kansas Attorney General’s Office, the Kansas Juvenile Justice Authority, the Kansas Advisory Group on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, a State Incentive Cooperative Agreement through the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention and the SRS.

All other funding to support the organization is generated through private foundation grants and private contributions.

The Guidance Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization under the IRS Code. As such, The Guidance Center accepts a variety of gifts from its friends and supporters. We encourage you to discuss these various giving methods with your attorney and accountant, and select the most effective way for you to support our organization. No matter what size gift, your support can make a difference in the lives of thousands in the community who are working to overcome the challenges posed by mental illness and substance addiction.

Here are some ways you can participate:

  • Outright Gifts: This is the simplest and most common type of gift. Gifts can include cash, securities, real estate, insurance or personal property.
  • Planned Gifts: Planned giving offers donors the opportunity to maximize tax advantages available for charitable donations. The most frequently utilized vehicle is an outright bequest, but planned giving encompasses a wide variety of options that includes charitable gift annuities, life insurance, IRA’s and charitable trusts, among others.
